Natasha Roy, Staff Editor at Rewire News Group, is looking for pitches:
I started a new Rewire News Group series earlier this year called Campus Dispatch, where once a month a young writer covers reproductive, LGBTQ+, voting, and more issues from the Gen Z perspective. We finally have a landing page on the site: https://rewirenewsgroup.com/campusdispatch/
I’m super proud of the three stories we’ve put out so far. The first piece by Madeleine Aitken covered a Massachusetts law requiring public universities and colleges to provide medication abortion services: https://rewirenewsgroup.com/2024/01/29/bringing-medication-abortion-access-to-college-campuses/
In February, Kirti Moteka wrote about Texas SB 17, an anti-DEI law that she argues restricts Lone Star State students’ freedoms: https://rewirenewsgroup.com/2024/02/26/texas-anti-dei-law-leaves-students-standing-alone/
And yesterday, we published an op-ed by Reproaction organizer Laila Salaam that makes the case for all university health centers to provide medication abortion services: https://rewirenewsgroup.com/2024/03/25/medication-abortion-belongs-on-college-campuses-schools-need-to-step-up/
I’m so proud of this series, and I’m super excited for the stories we have coming up. I am looking to fill out the a few more story slots, so if you have a pitch you think would be great for Campus Dispatch, send it over to roy.natasha@rewirenewsgroup.com
Rates start at $350 for op-eds and $500 for reported pieces.

TO HELP YOU CRAFT YOUR PITCH:
Learn more about the publication: Rewire News Group is a nonprofit media organization and the only national publication exclusively dedicated to reporting on reproductive and sexual health, rights, and justice. It is a newsroom that speaks unapologetically and with an inclusive point of view about sex, abortion, parenthood and power. More information here.
Read through a selection of recent Campus Dispatch pieces on its website.
Review the submission guidelines here. Note that these are the publication's general guidelines to help you refine your pitch. You must still follow the editor's specific instructions above.
Check out our collection of pitch excerpts on this page and find more sample pitches at The Open Notebook and at SuccessfulPitches.com.
Do not forget to end your pitch with (1) a short introduction about yourself; (2) a few lines highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits; and (3) links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.
