Aimee Rawlins, Senior Impact Editor at Fast Company, is looking for pitches:
I am looking for pitches for Fast Company’s Impact section, which covers climate, sustainability, housing, transit, urban development, etc. (Take a look at the site to get a sense of recent articles.) Ideally looking for stories in the 600-800 word range that have a news tie-in. (Day-two/three analysis on news stories, a fresh angle to a story that's trending, etc.) Your pitch should include a proposed hed and dek and a brief description of the scope of the article. Please make sure to include the central thesis of the piece, as well as answering the “why now” question. You can also include a brief explanation of your prior experience and any relevant links.
Rates depend on the length/scope/sourcing required for the piece but start at $350. Please email arawlins@fastcompany.com with ""PITCH: {story subject/title}"" in the subject line and include 2-3 relevant links. Open to writers from and location, international included, with a range of experience, although I'm unlikely to commission pieces from writers with no previous experience and no clips. Please email arawlins@fastcompany.com.
