Calling all fandom journalists, current and aspiring! We've put together a pitch doc as Fansplaining (temporarily) transitions to a written-only publication in a few weeks. If you have a story that fits our general approach and tone, please get in touch: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TjKuL5mLiqYqy5TOHm2aw9PpxCVApB5qqEKPHIL3TdM/
The document has a list of some of the pieces we've published—like our most recent from Kayti Burt, a fantastic meditation on the extra-precarious position of fan-journalists in an already precarious industry: https://www.fansplaining.com/articles/the-fan-journalist-tightrope
Also note that we're transparent about rates here—we're funded by patrons, and while we're VERY grateful for that support, we can't afford pay a ton or publish super frequently. If you're interested in sponsoring smart, substantive fandom journalism in the future, please reach out!

TO HELP YOU CRAFT YOUR PITCH:
Learn more about the publication: Fansplaining is a podcast about fandom. Since 2015, Fansplaining has been digging into the conversations shaping fan culture, from intersections with the entertainment industry to depictions in the media to conflict within fandom itself. More information here.
Read through a selection of recent articles/stories on its website.
Check out our collection of pitch excerpts on this page and find more sample pitches at The Open Notebook and at SuccessfulPitches.com.
Do not forget to end your pitch with (1) a short introduction about yourself; (2) a few lines highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits; and (3) links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.
