Writer wanted (Chattanooga) | ~15-20 cents per word

COMPANY/PUBLICATION: MOVE TO CHATTANOOGA

Seeking freelance writer located in the greater Chattanooga, TN area and familiar with local news, locations and events. While the position is remote, meaning, the candidate will be able to work from home, it is vital that the candidate live here.

Candidate will write 1-5 500-word articles per week on greater Chattanooga neighborhoods, events, locales and other topics as assigned by the editor. Initial production may include 10-20 articles focusing on Chattanooga neighborhoods. All articles will be submitted by the deadline.

This is a work-for-hire situation and final content will be owned by the editor. Content chiefly will be displayed on a website, although it is possible that content will also appear in print media.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with Word and has excellent English language skills. Candidate will perform all editing and proofreading of candidate's submissions. Candidate will refrain from copying material from other content-providers (plagiarism) and will likewise refrain from using AI to create content. All content submitted to the editor should be unique and original.

While a college degree is not required, the preferred candidate has received education, training and/or experience in writing content, journalism, social media, and/or website development as a content writer.

Pay will range from $75 to $100 per article depending on experience and quality of submission.

A brief curricula vitae or resume, references, and three writing samples of greater than 500 words are required.
