Verywell Mind is looking for new freelance writers! Here’s what we’re looking for:
WHAT WE WANT:
Gen Z/ young millennial voices (This is really what we’re looking for — writers who can hone in on the “talking to your best friend” voice and tone).
Experienced writers in the wellness, lifestyle, mental health, and relationship space
Published clips of your writing (personal essays, explainers, relevant SEO stories)
WHAT WE DON’T WANT:
Pitches (always love fresh new ideas, but we’re not looking for that right now!)
Non-published writers and/or writers looking for their first byline. (Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to train anyone right now. We’re looking for experienced writers who can tackle stories with minimal edits).
If this sounds of interest, please sent me an email at melanie.curry@verywell.com with the subject title: VWM: Interested New Writer — First Name_Last Name, a short bio introducing yourself, and at least two clips attached (or linked!).
Fyi, this call isn’t to assign stories. Right now, we’re looking to add new writers to our rolodex for future assignments. The pay range per article is $200 to $250!
As always, I’ll try to get back to everyone but depending on the emails received, I might not be able to respond. Please follow up in two weeks if you haven’t heard back from me.
No deadline! In the next couple of weeks would be good. Better earlier than later.
