THE OPPORTUNITY:
We’re looking for an experienced copywriter to join the CNN Product Growth team on a contract basis to help us work on CNN’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) subscription products. This candidate will focus on creating clear and compelling copy that inspires CNN’s audience to click through and engage with the CNN platform and our exciting subscription offerings.
THE ROLE:
The copywriter will be responsible for crafting engaging copy that lives across various marketing channels and travels through CNN’s entire user experience, including our website, mobile apps, emails, and sometimes our social media accounts. This role demands a keen understanding of the consumer mindset and the ability to produce content that resonates with the CNN audience, driving action and engaging them throughout the entire subscription experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write high-quality, engaging copy for multiple platforms including emails, web content, and potentially our social media platforms and advertising campaigns.
Collaborate with the marketing, product, and design teams to ensure that the copy aligns with visual elements, brand identity, and overall project goals.
Adapt voice, tone, and style to appeal to different segments of our target audience, ensuring consistency across all communications.
Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for new messaging campaigns or strategies.
Edit and proofread copy to maintain high editorial standards.
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to iterate on content strategies and increase overall effectiveness and conversion rates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 7 years of direct professional copywriting experience, preferably in a consumer-focused or subscription service environment.
Ability to create compelling and high-converting copy.
Ability to work through the technical details of an online product.
Ability to write copy that seamlessly transitions between marketing needs into the user journey.
Strong understanding of consumer psychology and how to craft messages that resonate and motivate. Proficiency in handling multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders from various departments.
