Joshi Hermann, Founder of Mill Media, is looking for pitches:
Freelancers! Please pitch me. We've increased our monthly budgets so we can commission more writers and pay for larger projects. If you're in Liverpool, Birmingham, London, Manchester, Glasgow or Sheffield, check out our pitching page.
I'm already starting to commission for our London and Glasgow launches and for July/August, we really want great stories in Birmingham and Liverpool, because we have tiny teams there.
We don't have a set word rate—fees range from £150 to £2,500. See our page for details.
We offer fees per story based on location, experience and the reporting work involved. I'd rather pay 15p a word for a theatre review and 50p a word for a super investigative project because that better reflects the time that goes in. One day we will pay US-style magazine fees
