We are a dynamic and growing global publishing company seeking talented and motivated Writers/Content Developers to fill vacancies for our K-2 ELA Project.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Our publishing company is seeking a creative and passionate Educational Writer/Content Developer with a strong understanding of early childhood education to contribute to the creation, enhancement, and repurposing of educational content for our K-2 English Language Arts (ELA) program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing engaging texts, stories, practice exercises, and assessment items specifically tailored to the developmental needs of K-2 learners. You will collaborate with team members on content editing to ensure consistency and high-quality materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• K-2 Content Expertise: Develop engaging and age-appropriate educational content for K-2 students, including texts, stories, practice exercises, and assessment items.

• Curriculum Alignment: Craft content that aligns with K-2 curriculum standards and learning objectives, focusing on foundational literacy skills (phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, comprehension, etc.)

• Variety and Learning Styles: Ensure a balance of content types (fiction, non-fiction, poems, songs) to cater to the diverse learning styles of young learners.

• Interactive Learning: Integrate interactive elements and activities to promote hands-on learning experiences and foster a love of reading and writing in young students.

• Student-Centered Instruction: Develop content that empowers K-2 students to take an active role in their learning and provides opportunities for independent thinking and problem-solving.

• Content Repurposing and Editing: Edit and repurpose existing educational content to enhance clarity and alignment with current K-2 standards.

• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with team members, including editors, designers, and illustrators, to seamlessly integrate written content for K-2 learners.

• Style and Sensitivity: Strictly adhere to the provided style and sensitivity guidelines , ensuring content is culturally relevant and inclusive for K-2 students.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, English, Creative Writing, or a related field preferred.

• Experience: Proven experience in educational writing, editing, and content development for K-2 learners.

• Curriculum Expertise: A strong understanding of K-2 curriculum standards and early childhood literacy development.

• Creativity: Strong creative and imaginative thinking to develop engaging and developmentally appropriate K-2 content.

• Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Adaptability: The ability to adapt writing style and content to cater to the specific needs of K-2 learners.

• Style Guide Adherence: Strong ability to adhere to style and sensitivity guides, ensuring culturally sensitive and inclusive content for K-2 students.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

• Contract Type: Independent Contractor Agreement - Freelance

• Reporting Manager: Senior Content Editor

• Working Hours: 8 hours/day.

• Working Days: Monday-Friday

• Agreement Period: 1 year (might be extendable based on projects)

• Start Date: Immediately.

• Salary: $5600 Monthly
