Calling all labor journalists!
Economic Hardship Reporting Project (EHRP) wants your Labor Day-related stories — from reports on worker organizing and labor justice to historical deep-dives, first-person essays, and more.
We give grants to independent journalists for their work. Keep reading for instructions on how to pitch.
Our rates:
Reported personal essays: $750 to $1,500
News stories: $800 to $1,500
Features: $1 to $1.25 per word

Learn more about the publication: The Economic Hardship Reporting Project (EHRP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and amplifying journalism that focuses on economic inequality in the United States. EHRP funds and publishes stories that highlight the struggles of Americans facing financial hardship, with the goal of bringing these issues to the forefront of public discourse. The project collaborates with a wide range of media outlets to ensure that underreported stories about poverty, economic injustice, and the impact of policy decisions reach a broad audience.
