Fast Company seeks a dynamic and culturally savvy freelance writer to cover internet culture and trends for our Tech vertical. You'll be at the forefront of creating engaging content that captures the pulse of online trends, memes, and viral phenomena. You will collaborate with our digital team to produce timely, witty, and intelligent articles about internet culture, influencers, and trends, especially those impacting our authority areas: work-life, tech, news, design, and impact.
Pay rate: $350 per day.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Proven experience as a writer and reporter, with a focus on internet culture and digital trends (please send links to work samples)
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to adapt tone to Fast Company's style
Deep understanding of internet subcultures, meme culture, and social media ecosystems
Strong research skills and ability to quickly grasp and explain complex online phenomena
Experience with SEO best practices and social media optimization
Ability to write quickly and concisely
Active presence on major social media platforms and familiarity with emerging platforms
Strong editorial judgment and commitment to factual accuracy
