If there are any student journalists from Eastern Kentucky who’d like to report on this, including the reactions, challenges, or implementation, please get in touch.
Rates start around $300 for reporting but increase based on scope of work. I’m taking pitches for a 100 Days in Appalachia vertical that publishes the work of young Appalachians. (We accept pitches on a rolling basis; it’s ongoing!)
ABOUT 100 DAYS IN APPALACHIA: 100 Days in Appalachia aims to amplify the region’s diverse voices, celebrate its successes, investigate its failures and empower its communities. Being the independent nonprofit newsroom of Appalachia Free Press, 100 Days in Appalachia is deeply committed to community-based, nonprofit journalism and investing in work created by Appalachian writers, reporters and visual journalists.
