Erin Quinlan, Features Director at Cosmopolitan, is looking for pitches:
Periodic reminder that the Cosmo features team exists in a state of eternal need for bold, buzzy, high-impact storytelling that captures the current moment and reflects the experiences of young women specifically. Now commissioning for fall and beyond at rates of $1.50 to $2 per word.
We specialize in developing deep narrative dives, distinctive trend reporting, accountability journalism, embedded dispatches, profiles of fascinating figures, and more. Every feature is a unicorn! The central qualities we seek are originality, relevance, and smarts.
In the months ahead, we’d also love to explore more data visualization, social-first storytelling, video-driven projects. I love a longform read, but not every story needs to be an 8-page wall of text. Offbeat proposals definitely encouraged.
If you’re a journalist with a juicy idea, I’d be honored to hear from you: erin.quinlan@hearst.com. Thank you in advance!
