New England Psychologist, an online monthly professional publication for psychologists and therapists in the six New England states, is looking for a dynamic individual who can help contribute to our writing team as a freelance columnist/writer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EITHER: Write a monthly psychotherapy-oriented or clinical practice-oriented column of between 700 and 900 words, which focuses on practical tips & ideas for improving a therapist's private practice
OR: Writing a monthly article (or two) for the publication, on a specific topic as directed by Editor-in-Chief
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be in clinical practice in some capacity OR work within a research capacity OR be a freelance journalist
Good writing skills in a style consistent with our publication
Prior writing samples a must
For clinical topics, prefer a psychologist or therapist living & working in one of the six New England states, but will consider other US residents
For other articles, prefer a freelance journalist with experience in healthcare topics
Must be a US resident residing in the US
KEY ABILITIES/SKILLS:
Must possess excellent writing skills, with demonstrated writing ability
Good proofreading and editing skills
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Respects and adheres to deadlines without excuse
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
This is a freelance position, paid per article written, dependent upon word length ($75-$175 per article).
You should be self-managing, responsible, and be someone that can work largely on your own with minimal direction and supervision. You must have the ability to write a full-length article, with the word limitation given.
This is a virtual, work-at-home position. You must be a U.S. resident to apply.
