Melissa Goodrich, Digital Strategy and Marketing Coordinator at the Poetry Center, is looking for pitches:
In 2025, we’ll be celebrating Voca’s 15th anniversary! An online audiovisual archive featuring over 1000 recordings of poetry readings over the past 6 decades, Voca documents the work of emerging poets alongside literary luminaries.
We’re seeking blog posts specifically tied to the Voca archives—from deep-dives on a single poem to lesson plans highlighting readings throughout the years. The Poetry Center is embarking on a new effort called the Belonging Initiative. Pieces exploring the theme of belonging—through the work of archives, through VOCA itself, or through poetry more broadly are welcome!
Please send a short pitch of your concept and the Voca track(s) you would use to our Marketing Coordinator, Melissa Goodrich at: mgoodrich@arizona.edu.
SUGGESTED TOPICS:
Why I love Voca
How to use Voca in the K-12 / undergrad classroom
A Voca lesson plan
How Voca makes poetry more accessible + inclusive
We offer a $100 honorarium per blog piece.
