Pitches wanted (food) | $100-$250 per article
Added 2024-09-19 11:40:12 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: PALESTINE IN AMERICA
Deadline: 27 September 2024
Nylah Iqbal Muhammad, Guest Editor for the Palestine in America food issue, is looking for pitches:
We are looking for writers and pitches for their Deluxe FOOD Issue. We want to commission writers from all backgrounds but are giving priority to Palestinians, and Palestinian writers from Gaza, the West Bank, and 1948 occupied territories. We have plenty of stories to assign but are also looking for original pitches for the following:
Deep dives, reported pieces
Profiles
Poetry and fiction
Personal Essays
Family Recipes
Food/Travel Narratives
Anything else that fits in the theme of Palestine and food
Palestine in America is self-funded, so we have a limited budget. Short pieces are $100 and longer articles are $250. However, we are putting on fundraisers — for both the publication and for Gaza — to pay our writers more so these rates will go up. Send submissions or introduce yourself by emailing palestineinamericafoodissue@gmail.com by September 27th. We’re really excited about this Food Issue and would love for the best food writers out there to be part of it!
