Insurrect! publishes writing related to the pre-1900 colonial Americas. Possible genres of publication include: research-oriented medium form essays of approximately 1,000 words, cultural criticism, short narratives on archival sources and primary materials, pedagogy reflections, exhibition reviews, digital project reviews, and roundtables. Stylistically, we are looking for writing geared towards a broad, public-facing audience—not just an academic one. Personal writing is welcome.
