Ross Tilchin, Director of Economic Mobility at Results for America, is looking for writers

Calling all public policy researchers and writers! 

I'm looking for a part-time writer to develop content for the Economic Mobility Catalog, a resource that helps local leaders identify and implement evidence-based strategies to advance upward mobility.

This writer will help the Catalog team build out a set of Strategy Guides, which articulate a range of best practices associated with data-informed approaches. You'll conduct literature reviews, identify and interview experts, and write actionable guides that will help local leaders launch programs that actually improve outcomes for their residents. 

I'm looking for candidates with over 5 years of policy research and writing experience, and who can commit 10-20 hours per week to this project. See the attached position description for more detail.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Writing Consultant will contribute to content development for the Economic Mobility Catalog, a resource that helps local leaders identify and implement evidence-based strategies to advance upward mobility.

The Writing Consultant will be primarily focused on developing 5-6 strategy guides, which articulate a range of implementation best practices for evidence-based approaches. The development of each strategy guide will require conducting a literature review, identifying and interviewing 3-5 experts, synthesizing interview findings into a draft, and incorporating expert feedback on the guide before publication.

This is a part-time consultant position that will end upon the completion of 6 strategy guides or December 31st, 2024. Consultants will be expected to work 10-20 hours per week.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in policy research, writing, and communications. Background in economic mobility-relevant policy areas and significant experience interviewing researchers, practitioners, and public officials is strongly preferred.

COMPENSATION

The Writing Consultant will be paid $2,000 per completed strategy guide, with the expectation that 5-6 strategy guides will be completed by December 31st, 2024.
