Channel Update and Changes

So people who have been watching this channel for a while know that I started the channel interviewing women about Red Pill concepts. This is because I was fascinated to know what regular women thought of Red Pill ideas and I didn’t see any good content on YouTube, so I decided to make it.

Turns out other people were also interested in that kind of content and so the channel started to accumulate some views. At first it was great, I was enjoying the conversations with women and I was making a bit of money.

It did bother me that the videos attracted so much hate and negativity in the comments section, especially since the conversations I had with the women were polite and respectful but apart from that, it was a lot of fun.

Eventually though, my curiosity was satisfied. I felt I had a good grasp on what women felt about Red Pill ideas and the degree to which they were honest with themselves.

At the point it was difficult to find the motivation to keep approaching women for interviews. I’m not sure people can fully appreciate how much effort it takes to go into a public space and cold approach women all day, asking them to answer intimate questions while I film them, unless they’ve done it themselves.

Unfortunately, while I was losing interest, I had sort of set up the channel as a bit of a business and I was using the income to support myself. So, I didn’t want to stop because I liked my lifestyle and I wanted to move to Bali.

So I did something a bit risky and I changed the style of content that I was uploading. I threw away my journalistic impartiality and started sharing my own views in a self interview format.

This completely renewed my interest because it meant I could produce videos that I found engaging. I found that the comments sections became friendly, respectful and there was a great exchange of ideas.

I also found there was an influx of messages coming to my personal email, thanking me for my content, people saying how much they appreciated it. This really kept my spirits high and motivated me to keep making new content.

Writing the scripts, doing the research, the filming and the editing, meant that each video took a long time to make but it was very rewarding.

Seeing that I was getting a positive response, and there were some great one off donations coming in, I decided it was time to move to Bali.

In total I spent two months there and I learned so much. Even though I’m a YouTuber, I’m actually quite a private person so I don’t want to go into all of the details of the trip but it led to some amazing changes in my personal life.

The one downside is that the new style of videos don’t have as broad appeal as the ones interviewing women. They’re a bit more niche and deeply intellectual and so they only really appeal to a specific audience.

Even though the views were dropping, I’ve been getting to know those members of my audience and I feel like I’ve found my people. Rational, respectful and intelligent people who love Red Pill ideas but don’t hate women or buy into any of the extremes or tribalism.

But while I was enjoying making the videos way more, I did find that the revenue from the channel was drying up.

I don’t want to appear ungrateful, a lot of people personally donated to my paypal and a bunch more signed onto my Patreon. These donations gave me the freedom to have the experience in Bali that I needed and I’m forever grateful.

The reality is unfortunately that I wasn’t making enough money to support myself. I have returned to Australia and I’m re thinking my financial situation.

I also want to loosen up with the channel a little bit. I was very nervous to state my own views publicly to begin with but I overcame that fear and found it to be very rewarding.

I think that part of the self interview format is still a little bit about my hiding behind a persona, giving both sides of the perspective. It’s beginning to feel a little bit too formal and rigid, like I’m still keeping a barrier between me and my audience.

So, I’m gonna branch out and just start speaking to you guys directly. I also want to deviate slightly away from purely conceptual videos and start talking more about real situations and how to apply Red Pill ideas.

I also want to sit down with people and have long form discussions where there is a genuine exploration of complex topics. These discussions could last 2/3 hours but will really go into depth.

It doesn’t mean I won’t ever go out onto the street and do interviews with strangers or that I won’t ever use the self interview format again. I’m just going to relax everything and kind of do what I want.

That way I keep the channel as something fun and interesting for myself and hopefully others will like it too.

I have decided to change the name of the channel from Red Pill Interviews to just my name Alexander Grace.

I still intend on talking about Red Pill ideas but if I decide to discuss something that’s not specifically to do with the Red Pill, I want to give myself the freedom to do that without attracting criticism that I’m in any way diluting what Red Pill means.

In this way, when I talk I take full responsibility for my words. I don’t claim to be speaking on behalf of the Red Pill community or anything like that.

I still intend for the channel to help me meet my basic living expenses. I’m thinking of tossing away the once a week upload schedule. Sometimes it may be more than that, sometimes less. I just want the whole thing to be more relaxed.

To begin with, what I’m finding interesting is reading real life accounts of people’s relationships and explaining the psychology of what is motivating people. For this kind of thing, Reddit is a goldmine. I find this stuff endlessly fascinating and I hope others will too.

I’m going to start doing live streams. On these streams I will go through Reddit posts to do with dating, relationships and the Red Pill and share my thoughts live. People in the chat can also share their thoughts and we can have a dialogue.

In addition to that, the livestreams will also give people the chance to ask me questions directly. If there is a topic you’re curious to know my thoughts on or something in your personal life you would like advice for, this is the chance to get your answers.

Obviously not everyone will be browsing YouTube when I livestream but for my Patreon subscribers, all of the livestream events will be archived and available on my YouTube page. That way you can enjoy watching/listening at your own leisure at a time that suits you.

My apologies for regular YouTube fans. I won’t be making the archived livestreams available for the general public. The livestreams will be a bit more intimate and personal and I only want to make the archived version available for my Patreon subscribers. You can hopefully still catch them live though!

So I guess that’s it. The channel is no longer Red Pill Interviews, it is now Alexander Grace. I’m excited to release some of the barriers I’ve kept on myself and have a bit more fun with this channel.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me in getting to this point, I really really appreciate it. My time in Bali was amazing and it wouldn’t have been possible without your support.

Whether you watch the ads on my videos, have purchased my ebook, have given me a once off donation or are one of the awesome people that supports me on Patreon, a big thank you to you all. You guys are the best and I really appreciate your support.

Comments

1] If you decide to do another round of interviews, I might indeed put my money where my mouth was and help you rent a female assistant on Craigslist, so you will get more women with less hassle. 2] However I did read the whole post and I think you have found out female nature, and much earlier than I did, kudos to you. 3] As new guys come on board you may want to consider or reconsider the naming of your channel, in accordance with the seminal marketing book Positioning. Only the first in the market get to call themselves eBay or Amazon or Chevrolet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Chevrolet . Perhaps Red Pill Generally or Red Pill Grace would position you better, then you could state or title videos that are not expressly red pill/MGTOW. I would however leave the interviews on their own channel or create another channel for them, so they are easily found and identified. You can update the descriptions to direct them to your main channel. 4a] Red Pill and MGTOW should embrace the whole life, but it is the case that the further one strays from informing (or often whining or complaining) about women, the more like it is that the topic is shunted off to another field (proper diet, exercise, career, investment, various hobbies and activities). 4b] Having a happy life on your own terms while understanding the reality of the world is the end-game of MGTOW. Not requiring a woman and having a happy life makes you MGTOW or Red Pill in my book. Red pill is a term that is in some sense being hijacked. A- There are former/neo/pseudo/crypto pickup artists, including some members of the ‘Red Man Group’, who are often a bit too much pick-up artist for my taste B- MGTOW and Red Pill have been confused with or perhaps invaded by involuntary celibate men, and/or men with no viable romantic options (Incel, TFL, true forced loneliness) as well as bitter chumps, because none of those source groups have any cachet. It is important that one chooses to go their own way and knows about the state of the world. If you are just reacting to (or resentful of) the circumstances imposed upon you then the likelihood of a happy life on your own terms drops precipitately.

sounds like a good plan, hope things will work out for you! good luck!
