ApartmentAdvisor’s The Key is open for pitches from writers to expand its renter-focused content. Covering four main categories—News, Lifestyle, Real Renters, and Renter Guide—The Key publishes stories designed to inform, entertain, and support renters. Writers are encouraged to propose ideas for evergreen articles, data-driven analyses, personal essays, Q&As with experts, and service-oriented pieces that cater to the needs and experiences of today’s renters. The editorial team is particularly interested in unique and compelling angles that set stories apart from similar coverage in the market.
To pitch, writers should submit one to two paragraphs summarizing their idea, specifying the relevant category, and including links to samples of similar work, as well as a proposed headline. Each pitch should also address why the story is important for renters, what makes the angle unique, and any initial reporting or research. Submissions, labeled with "PITCH:" followed by a brief description, should be sent to lilly.milman@apartmentadvisor.com.
