I am new to this and still trying to understand the relationships dynamics but aren't the alpha and beta males notions just describing how they fare with women (alphas don't care about the opinions of women whereas beta males are subjected to them for their self-esteem for example), independently of their intrinsic value ? It also seems like there is no real consensus about it and that you cannot directly transpose what happens in the animal realm to the humans. Maybe someone can clarify this.

2019-11-11 16:15:05 +0000 UTCI can't speak for all women, but MY gut response when I hear men flinging about terms like 'alpha male' and 'beta male', especially when using 'beta' as a derogatory term, is to roll my eyes and immediately assume they are insecure and immature. The greatest leaders I've known and worked with, both in military and civilian life, saw the value in anyone willing to contribute, and had a knack for identifying individual strengths and unifying people for a common goal. They build, they don't tear down.
