2019-08-23 05:47:48 +0000 UTCI hear what you are saying here. I’m more of a proponent of honest communication, as long as it’s coming from a place of confidence and not neediness. For example, If I’m interested in dating a girl because I think she is adorable, and I have talked with her enough to get a feel for who she is, I will tell her, “Hey, I think you are adorable and I want to go out with you sometime.” This works best for me because I get to say what’s on my mind and it forces them to choose right then and there if they want to go out with me. Sometimes the answer is No and sometimes it is yes. At least I know and then I’m not torturing myself thinking about whether she likes me or not. I agree with the premise of not asking to be someone’s girlfriend when you haven’t been going out with them, that’s socially unintelligent and awkward. This shouldn’t come at the expense of trying to figure out whether someone is interested in dating you and that’s where I fear it can go too far.
