We are a small, specialized consulting firm based in San Diego, California.

Our clients are California utilities, and in turn, the State of California. We assist them with Energy Policy and Building Science and Building Technology related research and reporting. We need help with researching and writing about several specialized topics that relate to the electrification of residential and commercial buildings in the California. For example: Reach Codes Best Practices, Pathways to Electrification for existing Buildings, Impact of upcoming SCAQMD and CARB regulations, and so on. To learn more about the subject matter and to see some examples of what your peers are working on, look at socalenergycodes.com, localenergycodes.com, and etcc-ca.com.

California Building Electrification is a specialized topic, and no one but industry insiders, government staffers and academics to know it well. You don't need to know it well, but you MUST HAVE some knowledge or experience in this or in a closely related area. Otherwise the learning curve is just too steep. We will therefore unfortunately need to reject applications from "generic" tech writers - including chatGPT experts. chatGPT output is not good enough (yet) for what we need. We've tried.

Please provide project or report examples.

Industry secret: cover letters don't matter much, feel free to not spend time with that. Your work examples on the other hand should impress.
