Shelli Nicole, Creator of Hi Shelli, is looking for pitches:
Working with queer writers and giving them a space to share their work with others has been hella important to me long before my days as Culture Editor over at Autostraddle, and when everything went down and that position came to an end I made a promise to continue to do so.
I’ve had the hella fly honor to have more and more guest writers on my Substack in the past year with so many more to come in the next. I use the money from subscriptions to pay my writers for their words and I can’t wait to grow the guest bylines more and more.
These are just a few of the recent pieces from guest writers like Kay, Laya Lee, and Harlow Harlow, but I am always looking for more folks to work with.
So please, if you’re a queer writer, emerging or non—and especially Black and Brown—please peruse through my Substack and get a feel for the content and pitch me at Writing@hishelli.com.
Film reviews, show retrospectives, fashion in film, and even what you’ve watched during the week are all vibes I’m looking for. The only constant is connection; all pieces on my site, written by myself or others, have to have some sort of personal narrative woven in.
