2020-03-11 02:51:40 +0000 UTCMy husband and I went on a cruise that caters to older people. Although we are in our 40s, most people on the ship were 60-80 years. Based on observation alone I would estimate around 30% were obviously happy and still in love with each other. It’s possible others were but may be less demonstrative in public. There were at least 30% who were obviously not happy with each other. And there were a few single people - widows and widowers mostly. The one thing that was crystal clear though was that those people who seemed happy in their relationships were also the ones who looked the healthiest. Whether it is the good long-term relationship that helped or the being healthy that helped - there definitely seemed to be a correlation.
