Crash Course, owned by Complexly, is an award-winning YouTube channel that invites students, teachers, and lifelong learners to tackle subjects they might have had trouble with or are curious to learn more about. Our videos take traditional classroom concepts and combine them with engaging and insightful narratives to help people learn and understand.

Job Title: Freelance Writer, Crash Course Kids Literature
Status: Freelance
Location: Remote, US-Based
Pay: $400/episode; $2400 total
Term: January 2025 til March 2025
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As our freelance writer, you'll be responsible for drafting 6 roughly 900-word scripts based on detailed outlines. Scripts need to be engaging, leveled for the 3rd to 5th grade level, and follow guidance on Common Core standards alignment.
Experience writing educational material for elementary-aged students is required. This is a team project, so having the ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff and other contractors is also essential. And we need someone whose schedule is flexible, allowing for timely deadlines and consultation requests.
