Pitches wanted (JHU community, education, research) | ~$1 per word
Added 2024-11-26 21:57:50 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: JOHNS HOPKINS MAGAZINE
Greg Rienzi, Senior Editor for Johns Hopkins Magazine, is looking for pitches:
I'm open to magazine pitches for compelling stories about Johns Hopkins research and alumni. These are stories ranging from 750 to 3500 words. Think narrative, human interest, and stories with a broad appeal. Be creative! Message me at gjr@jhu.edu.
Suggestions for how people not in the JH community can go about looking for stories (aside from the obvious):
What are you and your friends/family/neighbors thinking about in terms of how the world works, your health, and what draws you to the art/music/beauty you seek, and then see if there's a Johns Hopkins affiliated person that can be a primary source for answers/context to that issue.
Wherever you are in the country or world, is there a compelling Johns Hopkins University story or alum that needs to be told that you can get direct access to?
CONFIDENTIAL NOTE: Reports indicate that Johns Hopkins Magazine pays $1 per word. It is recommended that you discuss the rate(s) with the editor upon the acceptance of your pitch.
