I am looking for: researched pitches for long form narratives [an arc! a story! characters! intrigue!]; essays [searing, searching, funny]; stories about gray areas and hard choices; people that give us hope; a sense of place. 

CONFIDENTIAL NOTE: Reports indicate that The Guardian US pays 60 cents to $1 per word. It is recommended that you discuss the rate(s) with the editor upon the acceptance of your pitch.
