I’m looking for pitches for issue 004 of Digital Frontier magazine. This time, our theme is "ECHOES."

"Echoes" came from the idea of history repeating itself, echoes through time, etc., but you can interpret it however you want—as long as it relates to emerging, digital tech and its impact on our lives.

Did something happen in the 1400s/1600s/1990s that strangely seems to also be happening today? Perhaps a past cultural movement is now occurring again, online. If so, what does that mean for society?

Is there a “new” concept or business strategy that a startup, academic, or subculture is trying to make happen today that actually worked hundreds of years ago?

Have you noticed a pattern in the way things happen in the tech world? Could be over centuries, decades, days, hours… are we more predictable than we think?

Have you got a strange theory that one of today’s big tech moguls is a historical figure reincarnated? I’m open to theories…

Everyone is welcome to pitch, whoever, wherever, whatever you are! Please send your nuanced, optimistic, well-researched, unique pitches to sophia [at] digitalfrontier [dot] com. Rates are ≥30p/word.

The deadline is February 4, aka The Facebook’s 21st birthday (please do not pitch that as a story).
