Melissa Doman LLC is a B2B organization and a leading mental health at work professional development provider. Our mission is this: empowering and equipping companies, leaders, and employees with skills-based education to learn how to have constructive and realistic conversations about mental health, communication, and team dynamics at work.
The time has come and we’re looking for another member to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for mental health advocacy and possess the ability to effectively communicate our message across various platforms.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Initially, we are looking for a Content Coordinator to write copy for one monthly newsletter and one monthly blog post. After the initial 90-day trial period, additional ad hoc content projects will be available on a rolling basis.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role that reports directly to the Founder and CEO, Melissa Doman. In some cases, you may also be reporting to the Business & Operations Manager, Ilana Morris. This is a fully remote position.
The first 90 days will be a probationary period, with ample time spent on onboarding and training during the first 30 days.
THE ROLE:
The ideal candidate will have a baseline knowledge of mental health or writing about mental health, communication, human resources, and related workplace topics. Responsibilities will include the following:
Creation of 1 monthly newsletter (roughly 500-800 words approx.):
Organize monthly CEO-provided newsletter content (from CEO’s social media and other channels)
Format content for the newsletter in pre-existing Mailchimp template
Schedule and deploy newsletter monthly via Mailchimp
Report Mailchimp analytics (i.e. open and clickthrough rate) via Asana
Update Mailchimp audience (i.e. bounces & archival requests from CEO or Business & Operations Manager)
Copywrite 1 monthly blog post (roughly 800-1,200 words approx.):
Write monthly blog based on CEO-provided topic. Suggest and brainstorm content topics as needed. You are welcome to use ChatGPT to assist you in writing the article, and then edit the output to match our brand voice. Include 2-3 reputable resources for article.
SEO optimize content (front and back end) using CEO Frase account
Source 1-2 royalty-free images from Unsplash
In Squarespace:
Upload and publish blog posts in Squarespace
Create succinct image descriptions, alt text, and complete all back-end SEO brief descriptions
Administrative Task Management:
Update pre-existing SOPs for your job-related job as needed
Monitor, update, and complete all job-related project management tasks and communication about deliverables in Asana and Slack
Ad Hoc Projects (as needed & options):
Assist with other writing tasks as needed on an ad hoc basis (to be separately compensated) such as: copywriting for lead magnets, key takeaways documents for workshops, and more.
REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent in English
Extensive experience with Asana, Slack, Mailchimp, and Squarespace
Expertise in Mailchimp audience management, template customization, and campaign automation
Proficiency with SEO evaluation tools (we currently use Frase.io)
Ability to conduct research and produce engaging blog content
Experience utilizing ChatGPT for content generation and editing.
Strong writing skills, with a focus on business topics (health-related experience is a plus).
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a warm disposition
At least 2 years of experience in social media, marketing & communications
Detail-oriented; You’re a whiz at the details of writing, editing, and designing – nothing gets by you
You’re an excellent project/task manager – you get things done on time

COMPENSATION
As a small business, our budget for this contract role and the two deliverables above is $500USD/per month (with the possibility of an increase in compensation over time).
Ad Hoc projects will have separate additional compensation.
