Emma Gibbs, Editor in Chief of JRNY Travel Magazine, is looking for pitches:
Travel writers! I’m looking to commission a “budget travel” piece for our autumn issue of JRNY Travel Magazine. Please read the below before sending pitches addressed to me at submissions@jrnymag.com. Deadline: EOP Friday 28 March. Just to emphasize: I’m not looking for pitches on the UK, Europe, North America or Africa for this article. (Which I appreciate rather narrows things down.)
CALL FOR PITCHES
I’m looking to commission an article that fits into a ‘budget travel’ category for Issue 12 of JRNY, publishing in October 2025. Please read the following before pitching:
Stories should fit JRNY style, which is first person and generally about lesser-known destinations or new takes on well-known ones
Submission will be in June 2025
Word count is 800 words and fee is £160 (payment will be made on publication, and we pay additionally for photographs)
Please don’t send pitches for the following destinations (for this article only): the UK, North America, Europe or Africa; or for a food and drink feature
