Every month Afternoon Delight Coffee Co. will be fundraising for then distributing $500 to a LGBTQ+ independent author. This form is for April. This is not a rolling application, and you must re-apply monthly if you are interested.
"Independent Author" is defined for this purpose as a writer that self-publishes their pieces, independently. You will not be represented by any publishing houses, and you retain full control of your intellectual property and publishing rights.
"Queer/LGBTQ+" you qualify if you consider yourself to be apart of the LGBTQ+ community. We may ask where you fall for promotional purposes, but you are not required to disclose this information, nor will it have any bearing on your application.
Preference will be given to authors currently working on stories that have LGBTQ+ main characters and/or primary themes.
Funds awarded do not have to be used for publishing/writing purchases. This is to support authors generally, whether its paying an artist for a cover design, an editor, or helping cover rent so you have more time to write.
If awarded, this is a one-time payment of $500, via your preferred payment method. (venmo, cashapp, paypal, or check)
