George Chidi, Creator of The Next Atlanta, is looking for writers:
I'm in the market to hire freelance writers in Atlanta, looking at stories others are ignoring, particularly where business and politics cross paths.
I'm looking to fill the gap, because subscription revenue means I can write where the AJC and the Atlanta Business Chronicle are both compromised.
I've been running The Atlanta Objective as a one-man-band for entirely too long. That's changing. I'm at a point where I'm seeing too many good stories and I'm out of bandwidth. That means moving into more of an editorial role where I can ensure journalistic integrity and tone while assigning work.
Going to be $400-$1000 a piece. News features, maybe some daily.
APPLICATION CHECKLIST: Unless otherwise stated, include (1) a cover letter explaining how you meet the requirements or why you are the right fit for the job; (2) a one-paragraph summary of your relevant experience, credentials and publication credits; (3) your strongest clips or links to published work; and (4) a resume detailing your writing experience.
