We are seeking a skilled news writer to join our dynamic team and deliver timely, relevant news stories that complement existing content and the SUCCESS brand.
The news writer will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent delivery of news-focused articles. This role requires editorial proficiency with excellent writing and reporting skills, a strong commitment to deadlines, and the ability to identify compelling story ideas. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and possess a passion for creating high-quality content that drives traffic and engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and identify news and timely stories that address readers’ general curiosity.
Ensure news stories can be supplemented by SUCCESS’ existing content and offerings in a relevant way.
Develop news story ideas weekly to present to editors.
Write assigned stories, maintaining a consistent editorial voice and style across all pieces.
Work with editors as needed to ensure pitches are unique, timely and aligned with brand standards.
Submit completed stories within hours of receiving assignment details.
Review content prior to submission to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Have the ability to problem solve under tight deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
1+ years of experience in deadline-focused written media.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality content.
Familiarity with G-Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.) and project management platforms.
Our standard rate for these articles is $100 for 500-word pieces, though these can change based on topic depth, reporting requirements, etc. Our standard deadline for these pieces is 24-48 hours.
