I would definitely talk to them about it! But in a very matter-of-fact manner. Just give them the facts - backed up by good scientific data - on dating, sex, marriage etc. Especially the data on age of loss or virginity, effect of sex partner count on pair bonding, STDs & pregnancy, including info on how infertility is rising & BOTH sexes should have children as young as reasonable. I will watch AG’s vids, among others, with my kids from as young as I think appropriate & based on their interest level, & then discuss the content covered in detail. I am very politically conservative, but I do not believe sex should be anything but joyous. I hate porn however, so I won’t be watching that with my kids. I WILL show them the Kama Sutra or other books with drawings that present sexuality as ultimate intimacy, deeply spiritual etc.

Good topic. I am at a weird spot as an uncle of a girl 13 and a boy 14. I let them talk with me about sex and porn and so on. There really aren´t discussions about it. For example they visited me and they saw graphic sexual moments in an anime they were watching with me. They picked the anime. All i said was "i will pretend i didn´t see it." or "If I am not here, you would watch it at home secretly anyway on your phones." I live in Germany where everything is hypersexual. My sister though is super conservative. I had not once in my life talked with her about sex because in our family the topic of sex does not exist. So I let my niece and nephew express themselves in that topic with me. I cannot pretend that tiktok. porn. german school friends who watch porn or kids their age in class which have sex... I can´t pretend all that does not exist. They need to have some adult they can talk about that. I sometimes feel dirty and weird about how I handle it, but then I remember how I was their age. I had NOONE to talk to and ask for advice how to handle growing up and all the sexual drive etc. Because of that, i was watchin without any control porn as a kid. So i try then to be a sexpositive uncle. or at least one who does not pretend it does not exist and shame them. Can anyone of you give me feedback? Maybe some better ideas?
