Mara Weinraub, Senior Editor for Groceries at The Kitchn, is looking for writers
ATTN: Freelance Grocery Writers
At The Kitchn, we cover grocery intel for everyday shoppers. These insightful stories help our audience navigate the aisles — and their budgets — without it feeling like a chore.
I’m looking for new voices who have ingenious advice and strong opinions about the groceries we buy and the retailers we buy them from.
Those stories come in many different forms, including personal essays, reported features, expert-approved tips, noteworthy trends, cultural phenomena, and other wildcards, as well as reviews of new and essential products (and retailers).
Rates start at $150 for a 300-word story.
One area I'm interested exploring right now is the freezer aisle, and specifically frozen dinners and how they've changed (or not!) in 2025.
If you're interested, please email me your pitches: mara.weinraub@thekitchn.com
**Note: I will do my very best to respond to every pitch thoughtfully, but due to the volume of messages I receive, it will take some time. Thank you in advance for your patience.**
