Paige DiFiore, Deputy Editor for Life and Entertainment at Insider, is looking for pitches:
I am looking for freelance pitches for Business Insider of people who quit/left/lost a job and had it spark a major change for their life/home/etc.
Seems vague, but let me thread some examples:
A woman who left her job to teach her kids at home, hated it, then found a way to make it great: https://www.businessinsider.com/quit-job-teach-kids-at-home-hated-started-travel-lessons-2025-2
A woman who left her stressful job to live in a remote cabin in Finland with her bestie: https://www.businessinsider.com/left-stressful-job-moved-to-finland-with-best-friend-2025-2
A woman who quit her desk job to work on cruises: https://www.businessinsider.com/interesting-fun-things-about-working-on-a-cruise-ship-2021-5
A woman who lost her job as a pastry chef and realized she wanted to pivot careers entirely: https://www.businessinsider.com/lost-job-as-a-chef-never-want-to-go-back-2021-8
Anyway, big work change stories start at $240+ for about 600 words. Would love if you pitch with a headline in mind (especially based on the examples threaded).
Please DM me pitches! No deadline, but will slow on assigning once I assign a decent number of pieces.
