Pitches wanted (book/film reviews) | $1,000 to $1,500 per article
Added 2025-03-05 06:24:08 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: THE NEW REPUBLIC
Cora Currier, Literary Editor at The New Republic, is looking for pitches:
For the next six months, I've got the great privilege of filling in as literary editor for the print edition of The New Republic; I'll be assigning for books, mostly nonfiction but a few fiction slots, out in the second half of the year (after July 2025).
For books, I'm mostly looking for non-fiction (history, economics, social sciences, and reportage). The reviews can have an essayistic angle, bring in the writer's own experience or reporting, or consider multiple books on a subject in order to make a broader point. Send pitches to ccurrier@tnr.com
CONFIDENTIAL NOTE: Reports indicate that this opportunity will pay $1,000-$1,500 for around 2,500 words. It is recommended that you discuss the rate(s) with the editor upon the acceptance of your pitch.
