Daria Smith, Senior Editor at Late Checkout, is looking for pitches:
Freelancers — we’ve updated our Late Checkout pitch guidelines!
After six months at Late Checkout, I’ve refreshed our pitching playbook to give contributors a clearer roadmap (and more room to shine). Whether you’re flagging a viral design moment, a hot hotel opening, or a cultural crossover with a travel twist, we’ve expanded every column with new examples, structure tips, and voice notes.
What we’re after:
Timely, trend-driven ideas at the intersection of food, drink & travel
Short, punchy pitches (50–100 words max)
A strong why now and cultural hook
Clear tie-in to one of our columns (from Having a Moment to Well, Then)
Visuals and booking links for travel/design stories
No commerce pitches—our in-house team handles that
We publish 24 stories a month and love discovering new writers. But please read the rules before sliding into my inbox.
