MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST (FREELANCE) — BOSTON, MA
The Latino Newsletter is looking for a multimedia journalist based in the Greater Boston area to join our team this summer. This entry-level freelance position offers the opportunity to report on Boston’s Latino communities, producing both text and video content that highlights local issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce four multimedia stories (text and video) focused on the Latino community in Boston.
Pitch and develop story ideas in collaboration with the editorial team.
Conduct interviews with community members, leaders, and experts.
Capture engaging visuals and write compelling narratives that authentically represent the community’s voice.
Deliver impactful local journalism content that will be shared on a national platform.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Journalism experience through student publications, freelance work, or independent projects (writing and video).
Deep familiarity with Boston’s Latino communities and their voices.
Strong writing and video production skills.
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
This is not remote work. Candidates must be based in or near the Greater Boston area and report from the local community.
Fee: $500 per story (Total: $2,000 for four stories)
Timeline: May 22, 2025 - August 15, 2025
