Pitches wanted (tech, Africa) | $125 per article
Added 2025-05-07 01:45:31 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: TECH SAFARI
Deadline: 20 May 2025
We are commissioning articles for Tech Safari. The pay is $125 per article, for ~1,200 words.
What we are looking for? It's easier to explain the articles I'm [not] prioritising.
1. I'm looking for articles that have a regional focus outside Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. Stories from these countries are critical, but we have eyes there already. I'm especially open to articles focusing on Northern and Central Africa, and francophone Africa.
2. I am not looking for listicles. So no "Top xx startups doing xxx" or "Startups to watch."
3. While I will consider fintech articles, I only want the non-cliche ones that challenge everyday norms. So, no financial inclusion pieces for now - no overbanking the banking stories either.
4. I am interested in highlighting fun and innovative startups. But only those solving challenges in unique ways.
I'd say read Tech Safari for the kind of stories we tell.

In terms of deadline, it's rolling. I accept pitches every quarter. The window for this quarter will close as soon as I find what I'm looking for.
