Climate Home News is always looking for pitches from freelance journalists, experts, and organisations working on climate policy. They commission news, features, and investigations that combine human interest with a strong news angle, always tied to climate change and with an international outlook. Preferred topics include climate finance, carbon markets, the energy transition and supply chains, human rights impacts of climate solutions, land use conflict, loss and damage, corporate greenwash, climate diplomacy, and geopolitics. Stories should be timely, relevant to an international audience, and feature compelling characters or tensions between interest groups. Rates start at £0.35 per word, and pitches should be under 300 words outlining the idea, sources, background, and relevance. Comment pieces are also accepted, generally unpaid, and should be concise, opinion-driven, and linked to recent or upcoming news events.
