Remote Late Night TV Scriptwriters wanted | $100 to $150 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW 

Mercor is collaborating with a leading AI research organization to source experienced late-night television script writers for a creative writing project. Freelancers will draw on their background in comedy, satire, and monologue writing to help evaluate and improve AI-generated scripts. This is an opportunity for seasoned writers with experience on programs such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, or similar outlets to apply their craft toward shaping the next generation of AI-driven comedy and entertainment writing.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of professional writing experience in late-night television, comedy shows, or related formats

• Demonstrated credits as a writer on programs such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, or similar productions

• Strong comedic voice with proven ability to craft topical monologues and sketches

• Deep understanding of U.S. political and cultural commentary in comedy contexts

• Excellent collaboration and critique skills

MORE ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

• Remote and asynchronous — set your own hours

• Expected commitment: 10–20 hours/week

• Project duration: 6-8 weeks, with potential for extension

COMPENSATION & CONTRACT TERMS

• $100-$150/hour

• Paid weekly via Stripe Connect

• Freelancers will be classified as independent contractors
