Pitches wanted for trans/intersex sex workers | $340 per essay

PAID WRITING OPPORTUNITY for trans and/or intersex sex workers! We are looking for pitches of essays and personal narratives about your experience in sex work to be included in Transactional Intercourse, a trans and intersex sex worker anthology. £250/$340 for written pieces of 1000 words. Deadline: October 15th (then selection will happen by November 1st).

PITCH SUBMISSIONS FOR TRANSACTIONAL INTERCOURSE

Pitch submissions for the Transactional Intercourse anthology are open for trans and/or intersex people who have done sex work. Current and former sex workers are equally welcome!

Transactional Intercourse is a trans and intersex sex worker anthology which will include 30 essays and personal narratives on a variety of topics all related to these identities. Finalized pieces of writing should be 1000 words or more, but in this form you should just share a general idea that you are willing to write in full if chosen. This could be about how clients treat you, reactions from family, how you feel about the stereotypes applied to trans/intersex sex workers... or something else entirely! Everyone who is accepted will be paid £250 once their piece is sent in.

Fundraising for the anthology launches at the start of October and will end at the beginning of November. As soon as the Kickstarter hits the funding goal and we definitively have enough money to pay everyone, I will choose between the pitches here - you will be contacted by November 1st at the latest to find out if you were chosen and completed writing will be expected by December 6th. You will retain rights to your piece, including the ability to re-publish it elsewhere.

About the creator behind this project: I'm Jack (he/they), a trans sex worker, activist, and author. I have experience in sex work over the last decade ranging from brothel work to online porn creation and have worked with various sex worker rights organisations over the years. I previously edited and published Working Guys: A Transmasculine Sex Worker Anthology and will be fundraising for this project and editing it the same way.
