Remote Science Writer/Editor wanted | $65 to $70 per hour

COMPANY/PUBLICATION: RADIOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA

We are seeking a highly skilled Science Writer/Editor to join our Innovation and Product Development team at RSNA. This part-time, short-term contract will support our efforts in enhancing the dissemination of scientific knowledge to various stakeholders in medicine and healthcare, including clinical experts, radiologists and other physicians, and healthcare technologists.

The contract is four to six weeks in duration, beginning in August. Duration and start date can change +/- two weeks. Remote position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Conduct iterative literature searches and technical review for specified diseases, conditions, or clinical findings

• Validate content delivered by search for relevancy and classification purposes

• Extract scientific and technical content from primary article into discrete pieces while maintaining scientific integrity

• Re-write technical content from manuscript into other forms while maintaining scientific integrity

• Organize technical content by clinical findings and differential diagnoses

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in life science or biomedical science and/or scientific research experience. Specific experience in medical imaging sciences highly desirable.

• Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Sophisticated understanding of the structure and quality indicators of peer-reviewed research (e.g. study design, sample size, statistical power and significance, etc.).

• Demonstrated experience in scientific or medical writing.

• Strong writer with excellent analytical and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently.

• Coordinate with other editors and Content Manager to ensure content workflow is followed on time.

• High attention to detail.

• Fluent in English.
