COMPANY/PUBLICATION: THE HUDSON REVIEW’S FREDERICK MORGAN POETRY CONTEST

We’re happy to announce that we are holding The Hudson Review’s Frederick Morgan Poetry Contest this July. For the contest, we will accept electronic submissions and will open our Submission Manager from July 1 to July 31, 2025, 5:30 p.m. EDT. You may also submit by mail in July; please clearly state you are submitting to the contest and postmark by July 31. As always, there is no fee to submit.

• First Prize: $1,000 + publication

• Second and Third Prizes: $500 + publication

• Contest open July 1–July 31, 2025.

• No fee

• Submit at www.hudsonreview.com/submissions or by mail (enclose SASE) to 33 W. 67th St., NY, NY 10023.

• Limited to FIVE poems.

• Contest open to poets making their first appearance in The Hudson Review.

• No simultaneous submissions

• No previously published work (if your story has appeared in any form, including online—in a blog, social media posts, etc.—we consider it to be previously published work).

We are still accepting submissions for our regular open poetry reading period, from April 1 to June 30. For regular submissions, poems must be mailed with SASE to 33 W. 67th St., NY, NY 10023, and you may submit up to seven poems (for the contest, please only submit up to five). If you mailed your regular submission prior to reading this announcement, and would like to be considered for the contest as well, please resubmit your poems electronically in July.
