Contemporary Art Review Los Angeles (Carla) is accepting critical essay, review, and interview pitches for our winter 2025 issue through 7/20. Submit here if interested: https://airtable.com/app1nYyxflgLCDSWG/pagfIvPYElAIz2xed/form
The pitch should center on a show based in LA (or an LA-based artist exhibiting in another city) as a thesis but the essay can branch out from that to include historical context/other relevant shows and artists, etc.!
CATEGORIES AND RATES:
Feature essay, $375, 1,500–2,000 words: Critical discussion of issues relevant to art and culture, that may or may not specifically reference the region, but should be grounded in current exhibitions, events, artworks, or issues.
Interview, $350, 1,200–1,500 words: Dynamic and inventive interviews with L.A.-based artists or curators.
Review, $200, 650–850 words: Must be on view in L.A. (or only recently closed) at the time of pitching.
Review, L.A.-based artist exhibiting in another city, $200, 650–850 words: Must be on view in (or only recently closed) at the time of pitching.
