The Hustle is always looking for reported feature stories on business and the economy. Suitable pitches include explainers on unusual or timely economic topics, profiles of people or companies taking unconventional approaches, and stories that dig deeper than the daily news. Features run 800 to 1,000 words for shorter pieces or 1,300 to 2,000 words for longer ones. Rates are $0.80 to $1 per word, depending on the level of reporting required.
