69 minutes of improvised music. Nice!

I had the pleasure of jamming with some great musicians tonight, and had time to set up some mics ahead of time. Most of the jams start with a simple 1 or 2 chord progression, and from there the feel develops as the universe demands.

There are a few moments where things go off the rails, like when we try and fail to figure out Toto's "Rosanna". I do really enjoy the phrygianesque jam that starts at around 20 minutes.

I played bass until a former student, Robbie Napholz, dropped by at around the 42 minute mark and played guitar. At 52 minutes, I switch to guitar and my student switched to the bass - he's much better than me on bass. We did an awesome lydian/lydian dominant jam.

Mark Kahovec is a band instructor at a local middle school, and played the sax and jazz flute. He has a gaming YouTube channel that can be found here https://www.youtube.com/user/MKSilverSax. It's a no-nonsense channel with great quality if you're into that sort of thing.

Mike Muggli played his new synth and the keys. His excellent electronic music can be heard here https://soundcloud.com/moog-lee

Jeff Schwertfeger is an incredible drummer for MANY bands in Chicago, and is prone to spontaneous bursts of rhythmic insanity.

Playing music with good musicians is one of the great wonders and joys of this reality. I can't encourage you enough to find a musician to play with.
