Bonus question: What key/mode do you hear ‘Jane Says’ in? That G -> A makes me think of either G Lydian or A Mixolydian. There’s an interesting chord in the chorus I’ve seen labeled a few different things. I’m wondering how you hear this song, my mind goes between the two above.

Hey Jake, I hope you're doing well. I have gotten out of my rut and started playing guitar again. I've also been listening to this band called Opeth recently and practicing some of their songs. I've been practicing my scales too but I want to pursue fingerstyle as well. I don't know ANYTHING about fingerstyle. So my question is how can I learn to play and compose fingerstyle songs in a similar manner like they do? I'm aware that it takes lots and lots of practice, however, I need a roadmap and some guidance as I'm pretty blank with my knowledge of fingerstyle guitar playing & compositions There's always so much going on in fingerstyle songs that it's hard to wrap your head around them, usually just lots and lots of surrounding notes supporting a melody line. Could you please devise a practice routine suggest something to start off with? I'm linking to a song so you have an idea of what particular style I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGPRoszjnWA
