Early Release for Patreon: Composing with Famous Chords

Once again, I set out to make a simple, easy, quick video, and once again it devolved into madness. This one harkens back to my roots and features a very silly intro. However, I've grown over the years as an artist, so it also includes a very silly outro.

I've already done lessons on a few of these chords but most of this should be fresh info unless you've completely pored through the Chord Progression Codex. I think it's a really fun lesson, I'm really happy with how it all turned out, even the music. I'll be posting a walk-through in a few days on how the track was built. I also believe that the bass line and guitar parts have many features that are worth separate videos, so please let me know if you're interested in any specific things I'm doing here.

I'm including the tabs for bass + guitar, as well as some practice tracks with no lead and no bass so you can try writing or jamming your own parts. We'll plan on doing a live stream here shortly as well - if you have any requests for topics, please include them here, otherwise I may talk more about writing leads/melodies for this chord progression.

Expect another post here soon, and thanks for your support!!!

And one last thing - this video will go public tomorrow unless any of you sharp eyed students find some egregious errors. There are a few "disclaimers" that'll I'll post in the comment section once it's open, here's what they are:

🚨I did not invent these names!

🚨When playing over the Neapolitan chord, parallel Phrygian is your best bet. You can think of it as being borrowed from that mode.

🚨The Augmented Sixth Chord is actually named after the Augmented Sixth Interval - you'll have to misspell bVI7 to form that interval.

🚨At the beginning I said I'd be teaching 10 chords. It's only 9 🙁

🚨Though "With A Little Help From My Friends" begins with a "Billy Shears Cadence" consiting of C - D - E,  the song ends with a "Hollywood Cadence" of C - Am6 - E.
